Reorder point & EOQ calculator

Standard inventory formulas: safety stock = z × √(L·σd² + d²·σL²), reorder point = d × L + safety stock, EOQ = √(2DS/H).

Demand & lead time

From your sales history; 0 if unknown.

From placing the order to stock being sellable, e.g. production + freight + check-in.

Order economics (EOQ)

Fixed cost of one order: setup, inspection, booking, admin.

Storage, capital and shrinkage; 20–30% is a common planning range.

FAQ

What is a reorder point?

The stock level at which you place the next purchase order so new stock arrives before you run out: expected demand during the lead time plus safety stock.

How much safety stock do I need?

It depends on how much demand and lead time vary and how rarely you accept a stock-out. Higher service levels raise z and therefore safety stock steeply.

Does EOQ work for Amazon FBA?

As a starting point. FBA capacity limits, storage fees and the aged inventory surcharge raise the real holding cost, so enter a higher holding % or check the storage calculator.
